Rehabilitation of the railroad infrastructure of the Petrobrazi refinery for OMV Petrom SA
Client: OMV Petrom SADuration: 09 / 2010 – 09 / 2012 From September 2010 to September 2012, Wiebe Romania and Porr Construct carried out an extensive refurbishment project of the railroad infrastructure of the Petrobrazi refinery in order to increase and modernize the transport efficiency of rail traffic. Overview: The project included extensive earthworks (121,000 m3), the laying of geotextiles (136,000 m2) and demolition work (5,000 m3) of old structures.
Rail infrastructure: In addition to laying 27 km of rails, sleepers and ballast, 49 track changes and a combined level crossing with 4 double crossing sleepers were also installed.
Additional work: In addition, there was the laying of 6.5 km of drainage pipes as well as extensive thermite welding and tamping, profiling and stabilization work.
