Project description

The renovation of the Border – Curtici – Simeria railroad line is part of Pan-European Transport Corridor IV and enables train speeds of up to 160 km/h. This project includes important technical measures to improve the infrastructure.

Electrical protection: Carrying out work to electrically protect the installations along and next to the track.

Overhead lines: Installation of 45.65 km of overhead lines on the main line and 6.67 km on the branch lines.

Poles and anchors: 900 masts and anchors were installed in 2022 alone.

Construction of the railroad connecting line Bucharest North – Henri Coandă International Airport

Client: Arcada Company S.A.Duration: 2020 – 2021 In 2020, the first phase of the modernization of the railroad line between Bucharest North and Henri Coandă International Airport was carried out in order to create a direct connection to Terminal T1. The works included the construction of embankments, the consolidation of the terrain and the renewal of the railroad superstructure. Soil and insulation work: Macres reinforced soil structures and laying of vertical concrete slabs to improve the load-bearing capacity of the subsoil (9,600 m3), backfilling with cohesive material (56,000 m3) and installation of geotextile partition walls (13,000 m2) and biaxial geogrids to improve stability (13,000 m2). Railroad superstructure: Type 60 railroad superstructure (3,200 m) including elastic clamping and new concrete sleepers. Rehabilitation of the railroad infrastructure of the Petrobrazi refinery for OMV Petrom SA

Client: OMV Petrom SADuration: 09 / 2010 – 09 / 2012 From September 2010 to September 2012, Wiebe Romania and Porr Construct carried out an extensive refurbishment project of the railroad infrastructure of the Petrobrazi refinery in order to increase and modernize the transport efficiency of rail traffic. Overview: The project included extensive earthworks (121,000 m3), the laying of geotextiles (136,000 m2) and demolition work (5,000 m3) of old structures. Rail infrastructure: In addition to laying 27 km of rails, sleepers and ballast, 49 track changes and a combined level crossing with 4 double crossing sleepers were also installed. Additional work: In addition, there was the laying of 6.5 km of drainage pipes as well as extensive thermite welding and tamping, profiling and stabilization work.
